How I Help
I use an active and empathetic approach to help you find insight within yourself and bring understanding to the underlying issues and root causes of your problems. I use techniques from Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, Emotion Focussed, and Existential-Humanistic Therapy.
My approach is focused and caring. I truly want you to achieve your therapeutic goals and ultimately live a healthier and more fulfilling life. I give in-the-moment feedback to help you understand your process and patterns. I communicate clearly, honestly, and help you to do the same. We work collaboratively as a team.
In my work, I pay close attention to helping you express and experience your emotions and feelings, as well as knowing the difference between thoughts and feelings. Often issues related to anxiety, trauma, panic disorders, and OCD, have to do with our nervous system. By helping you identify your emotions and feelings, you will experience feelings of relief from the issues you are facing.
I work to uncover how you block (defenses) your emotions and what might cause the suppression of your feelings. This is essential in helping you heal and understand yourself, and make therapy shorter and more cost-effective.
